Chinese oolong tea is undoubtedly the #1 choice to help you live a healthy modern life. Scientific experiments carried out in recent years have proven many of the health benefits long claimed by ancient Chinese medical records.
Many sound too good to be true – effective weight loss, slowing the aging process, and prevention of cancer and skin disease –but now it seems oolong tea has got them all.
Oolong tea gives you so many amazing health benefits because it contains a wide range of chemicals that protect the human body. These chemicals include: polyphenols, catechins, fluoride, zinc, selenium, and magnesia, among many others.
Lose Weight: Oolong tea has been proven to be one of the most effective fat burners of all types of Chinese tea. It does so by quickly dissolving triglycerides accumulated in fat cells and improving your metabolism that regulates the accumulation. Coupled with exercise, it is not surprising to see people losing many pounds after drinking this tea. (Read study #1 here)
Studies say: keep your blood tissue healthy with oolong tea
Slow Down Aging: The degradation of cells, tissue, and internal organs in the human body is not entirely a natural process. In fact, it is accelerated by the absorption of toxins, called “free radicals,” from our environment. The antioxidants contained in oolong tea can clean up these toxins before they are able to do damage to your body. (Read study #2 here)
Prevent Cancer: The development of cancer cells, especially those in the lung, liver, and prostate, can be effectively hindered by intakes of polyphenols and antioxidants found in oolong tea. In blood and tissue, oolong tea suppresses the harmful effects produced by the excessive acidity related to all types of cancer. (Read study #3 here)
Promote Heart Health: Many studies have shown that oolong tea can lower the level of cholesterol deposited in blood vessels, thereby reducing the risk of heart disease. A 2004 Japanese study found that oolong tea could also increase the levels of plasma adiponectin, which contributes to a lower frequency of heart-related diseases. (Read study #4 here)

Da Hong Pao tea, the top variety of oolong tea, is grown on a precipitous cliff in the legendary Wu Yi mountain area.
Take a trip here, and you may understand why this mountain, the most famous tea mountain in all of China, produces so many world-renowned oolong teas: it has a near-perfect combination of geography and climate.
Wu Yi Mountain is best known for its spectacular network of rocky hills, winding rivers, and beautiful caves.
Biologists love it here for the mountain’s amazing array of life that’s rarely seen anywhere in the world – it is home to almost 10,000 species of plants and animals.
The mountain area enjoys a subtropical, warm climate characterized by high humidity and plenty of rain. Here, summers are long and winters are short, providing ideal conditions for growing oolong tea.
Easily the most unique characteristic of Wu Yi Mountain is that all of the tea grown here has a unique “rock flavor.” That’s because Da Hong Pao and the other Wu Yi tea plants grow in solid, nutrient-rich rocks.
But unlike other oolong tea, Da Hong Pao originated from only four small tea brushes that hang from a sheer cliff on Wu Yi Mountain. Now most Da Hong Pao tea comes from cuttings of these tea brushes, and leaves from the original tea plants sell for hundreds of dollars an ounce. The cliff where those plants grow is under contestant protection by the Chinese military.
Take a sip of Da Hong Pao oolong tea, and you can almost taste the beautiful area it comes from. Show your friends what true tea connoisseurs drink.

Shui Xian oolong tea is believed to have been discovered more than 1,000 years ago during the Song dynasty.
Not much is known about how the tea came to be planted by the local tea farmers, but there is a legend surrounding the origin of the name “Shui Xian,” which means“Water Fairy.”
A young boy was collecting firewood on a hot summer day. In the sweltering heat, he felt terribly tired and thirsty. While resting in a cave, he smelled the sweet fragrance of a tree with beautiful white flowers and green leaves.
Seeing that the leaves were especially large and thick, he picked some and put them in his mouth.
Surprisingly, in just a few seconds the leaves cooled him down and filled his body with energy. Thinking he had found a magical plant, he took a branch from the tree home.
That night, a heavy rainstorm came and knocked down a wall of his house. The next morning, he found a small plant sprouting up from where he kept the branch. So he decided to make tea from the leaves of the plant, and drank it every day. By doing this, he grew up to be an especially strong and handsome man who almost never fell ill.
Hearing his story, people from near and far came to ask him about his secret. He told them he found the tea near a cave called “Zhu Xian.” But because of his dialect, what people heard was “Shui Xian,” or “Water Fairy.” Thinking that an actual Water Fairy gave the boy this marvelous tea, later people named this tea after her.
In the 1915 Panama Pacific International Exposition held in San Fransisco, Shui Xian oolong tea was one of China’s award-winning items.
Let this almost magical tea help you cope with the stress of life and nurture your body and mind. Make a cup, and feel relaxed every time you smell the delicate fragrance of “Shui Xian” tea.
The Shui Xian oolong tea industry began to flourish just 300 years ago, when people began to grow this tea in southern Fujian province using improved techniques.
